Creativity... Not Just For Artists Anymore.

A few years ago I came across a little book called "The Imagineering Way: Ideas to Ignite Your Creativity" written by the Imagineers at Walt Disney. Being a creative person I am always interested in how others come up with ideas for their designs and this book is a great source. Of course, my love of Walt Disney World did not hurt either.

I know that there are people on this list who would say that they are not creative because they cannot draw, paint or design. But this book puts an interesting light on how ALL of us are creative in our own ways. That includes project managers, accountants, programmers and marketers, not just artists and designers. How is that possible? In your job you might have to be "creative" to make a project fit within a budget, or you might need to pull together or create a winning team to finish a project.

"No matter what anyone might say to the contrary (including yourself), you do have a creative bone in your body. it's a natural part of your being."

"When you want to make the most of your creative abilities or rediscover what they are, do what Imagineers do: allow yourself to be a kid again and let the fun and fearlessness of childlike creativity set you free!"

—Kevin Rafferty
Senior Show Writer, Director, Creative Development

This book is a quick read but inspirational, full of great ideas, and funny. I would suggest it for everyone.
