JULY 2006

This month's case study is about how marketing and design can work hand in hand. This is true for both traditional and Internet marketing campaigns. Just using marketing or just using design will get you some results, but when you combine them that is when things really start to get together and work.

Enjoy!

Ask Tiger Studios

Q: What kind of marketing can I do for my web site?

A: There are a variety of things you can do to market your web site. You can have an SEO consultant come in to work on the web site's keywords for better placement in the search engines. You can choose to use AdWords in Google. Viral marketing is good so put your web site address on all of your letterhead, business cards, email signatures and print collateral.

PR, Marketing and Design

How They Can Work Together To Get Results

What do you do when you have an event, in this case a fund raising event, and you want to let everyone know about it? You market the event. If you don't have the time or the skills to market the event then you hire a person or company who will take care of the marketing and PR for you.

But, that is not the end of it. Then you need a company who can design postcards, posters, ads and emails that will announce your upcoming event. Why? When you combine good marketing with good design then you will get a winning combination and the results you are looking for.

Case Study

Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation Center (RMWCC) had a fundraising event on Mother's Day weekend. With a team of marketers, headed by Sally Mayberry and Sarah Hoffman, they needed to get the word out and fill the 300 openings they had for the event with reservations.

To spread the word they decided on three avenues: direct mail, newspapers and Internet. Using the design services of Tiger Studios, they created a postcard, email marketing letters and a newspaper ad to announce the event, have people RSVP and ultimately raise awareness for the RMWCC and bring in money to run their facility.

What We Did

Using full color and an African theme to go with the "A Colorado Safari!" event title, Tiger Studios created several attractive marketing pieces. Tiger Studios was brought in to develop first a full color postcard to highlight the event and inform people how they can RSVP or donate money. Then two email marketing letters, along with a black and white newspaper ad, were also designed and developed to announce the upcoming event. You can see the final postcard and a newspaper ad that was created for RMWCC in our Graphic Design Portfolio.

The Result

Because of good marketing and attractive design the reservations for the event came in fast. With 300 spots to fill RMWCC sold out 11 days before the event.
