FEBRUARY 2005
Read, have fun, and enjoy! There is a lot of information available on Feng Shui by different practitioners and schools. For a practice over 3,000 years old you should not be surprised. I have found over the years that some tips work and others do not; a lot like marketing your business. If you do not see results you need to try something else. So I came up with a few tips that have helped me over the years and thought I might share them with you. Desk Location: Make sure your back is not facing your office door so you can see whoever is coming in to meet you. Keep your back to a solid wall if you can. Try not to have your desk in direct line of the open office door but slightly to the side. Wealth Corner: Every building, room, and desk has a wealth corner. To locate it, stand inside the door of your office facing into the office. The back far left area of the office will be your wealth corner. The wealth corner of your desk would be the back left area if you are sitting in your chair facing your computer. To enhance your wealth corner place a plant in that area. Practitioners suggest a jade plant, available at home improvement stores, because the leaves look like coins. Important papers, cash boxes, or check books can be kept there as well as your computer or phone if new clients contact you via email or phone. Protection: It is suggested that a dragon be placed to the right hand side of your desk facing a window or door. I currently have a Dralion poster, from my favorite performance group Cirque Du Soleil, on my right side that faces my office door. I love the poster so I am sure I will not be able to test this tip out for a while. Just as a final word of warning, do not expect Feng Shui to fix all of your business woes. You use it in conjunction with your normal marketing and networking efforts. Just think of it as an enhancer.
